Hello FFF!!
I am finally over all the cocktail dresses I bought in college to go to Greek formals, socials & similar events. Now that I am a “young professional” with a more androgynous aesthetic, I hardly ever wear dresses, let alone tight backless dresses that provide zero comfort and require a stick-on bra.
Anyway! I have something like 8 of those dresses and associated accessories (ankle-breaking platform heels, cute tiny leather Guess jacket) that I blew a total of about $400 on and will never wear again. Most of them have been worn a handful of times and look very new so I figured I could try to sell them online for $25-30 each.
My question is for those here who have successfully sold their clothes online: How did you do it?
I looked at Poshmark, ThredUp & Facebook but none of them look too promising in terms of a “normal” person trying to sell her clothes. The top posts seem to be made by professionals who obviously sell clothes online full time. I also found many people who posted stuff for months that no one looked at..
What should be my strategy here? Focus all my effort on one platform and get the best possible pictures up. Or should I post on as many websites as possible and hope for the best?
For more context: most of the dresses are decent brand names like Lord & Taylor, Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor, etc. Everything is between sizes 8, 10 & 12.
