It’s finally hit my grandpa that his poor life choices won’t be resolved any time soon. He works a (what I assume) minimum wage job and he is living paycheck to paycheck trying to pay off debt that he incurred from his gambling addiction, and a quick run of the numbers shows that he’ll be in his current position for quite a few years. As you can imagine it is extremely depressing for him. No more trips to see the grandkids, no hope of a Florida retirement, ect. He recently just asked me about how much debt he needs to file for bankruptcy. (a number that came up was 50k? His is less than that.) I’m the only person that he’ll confide in and I don’t know what options he has. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
