I know a phone purchase can never really be frugal, but to put that in perspective I see a frugal phone as one that has a lifespan of at least 3 years, but I aim for 4-5 years, has a good warranty, and inexpensive repairs under said warranty. A good phone I can keep for 4-5 years and might occasionally have to install a new battery is better than a mid-class phone I have to replace every year.
Right now I'm looking at the Pixel 3XL and iPhone XR because they both have decent cameras and good battery, but I'm curious as to what people on here think.
