I got mine at a Tractor Supply store, they sell animal feed and such. Picture of the bag here.
A 7 pound bag of pine pellet cat litter is about $5 from Walmart and the pellets are smaller and not as effective.
I put just enough to coat the bottom of the box and I scoop as needed and add a handful of pellets to refresh, as needed.
I sprinkled the clumping litter in with it the first few times I used the pine to get my cat used to it. I found that helpful.
Pros:
No bad smell!
Cheap.
Litter doesn't track outside of the box.
No dusty air.
Last a very long time.
It clumps the pee enough to scoop it!
Cons:
The bag is heavy.
Sold in "Feed and Seed" stores which can be hard to find for some people.
