My partner recently moved out and took the fridge and the microwave with her. I'm wondering what options I have for cooking without them as I'm finding it surprisingly limiting. I have an electronic oven and four-ring gas hob.
I'm no gourmet chef. I can cook to a reasonable standard but before I met her I basically lived on baked beans and pasta packets and I'd rather not go back to that.
I did used to do a lot of batch cooking but that is obviously out with no cold storage.
Anybody lived in a similar situation? Anybody have any suggestions? Obviously I want to keep cost down but also ideally don't want to spend TOO much time in food prep. I'm perfectly content to do without the microwave but maybe it would be more frugal to just buy a new fridge, as that's the real limiting factor.
