I want to put down new wood flooring in my house and the idea is for it to continuous and clean throughout the second floor. The problem is that everything I've read says to run the boards perpendicular to the joists. As you can see in the attached picture, that would make for an interesting layout... I'd like to run all the flooring horzontally (left-to-right) but am worried about the impact on the left side of the plan. I'm not too worried about the left-to-right joists on the right side of the plan (should I be?)
