I'm 28. Just started a new job making 15/hr. I have about 18,000 in CC debt. Interest is killing me. Already cut up my cards. 5 dollars to my name. Everything is maxed out. First paycheck going in on Friday. Full benefits, insurance, 401k, health savings account, life insurance. Short term disability though I haven't opted into the LI or STD.. Still looking over plans. Haven't been to a doctor in like 10-12 years so going to it (physical) would reduce my weekly cuts from 32 per week to 26. A whopping 6 dollars saved woo! No kids, no house, no family. Costs about 1,503 per month for living expenses.. (before eating) Or 375.75/week. Haven't seen a pay-stub yet but the company takes cuts from the weeks prior to enrollment. So, if I sign up 2 weeks from now they'll take all three weeks worth of deductions. Which is fine. I would like to optimize whatever I can afford to sign up for.

My diet has been one meal a day for roughly 6 months now (been unemployed since July). Though, with this new schedule I have to eat twice maybe 3 times! (6 am-4:30 pm) (Mon-Fri with it looking like Saturdays as a half day..) So, 55-60 hours a week.

I really don't want to be looking at the base of a mountain anymore. Just would rather not have this constant anxiety.. that's a good start, if any...

I understand it sticks with you for 10 years right? So, I essentially won't be able to buy a home or a "new car" anytime soon I'm guessing?
