I was hoping that someone here could help me with this. We bought a car about 6 months ago for our daughter (2014 Toyota Scion) and I was stupid, stupid not to make an extra key!! Long story short, she slammed the key in her friends truck door (hanging from her bag on a lanyard) and the key is twisted and broken in half. The little fob is fine. But her car is parked until we get a key. Do I go to the Toyota dealership? (I didn't buy it there, we bought from an individual) What would be the most cost-efficient way to get a new key? It is Christmas, I am a stay at home mom with 3 kids. Money is tight right now to say the least. Thanks in advance.
