Hi, I'm 19. Just recently, my family was hit very hard financially. My mother worked at a job a year ago at a very "changed for the worse" company and ended up getting laid off. She's 65 so finding a job was pretty difficult. 6 months later, she eventually found one that paid 80k / year. However, 6 months after that, her workplace told her that if she did not improve in two weeks (as in she needed to be more extraverted like the rest of the place even though my mom is a huge introvert) she would be laid off. My mom then chose to resign instead of getting fired. Bacause of that, we have no unemployment. Also, my dad hardly makes anything (VERY little) and probably won't be able to help very much. I also have a brother who is my twin. Additionally, since I'm 19, I'm going to college and my brother will be next year as well. My mom's dad made quite a bit of money when he worked, so he will be supporting us where he can.
I'm basically asking what our options are and what I can do that can help. I'm pursuing a major in computer science because I've always loved the topic. I thought that maybe getting an internship somewhere could help, but I am clueless as to what I can do other than that. I also want to know more about my mom's options. My family seems to be trying to be optimistic, but I really don't see many ways of escaping this issue unless my mom can find another job.
Thanks. Also sorry if my writing is bad. Writing on my phone is a bit of a pain.
