Long story short, I have a chronic illness that prevents me from working for the time being, while I sort out treatments and medications ect. As I am exhausted all the time and constantly at medical appointments.

I took FMLA right as my lease on my house ended and moved into an apartment my father and step mother own.

They have assumed all of my bills, not that I have many, mostly being student loans, phone, and insurance(which I have met the deductible.) I have run out of sick/vacation pay and my parents want to give me a monthly budget seeing as I have no income, until I am well enough to return to work.

My question is what would a reasonable budget be for one person with seemingly no expenses other than gas, medical copays, and groceries.

I was going to ask for $400 a month, however even that seems high. I have never been in a position where I haven’t been self sufficient and asking for help/money is new and foreign to me. Both of my parents make around $90,000 a year for further information.

Is $400 too much, if so what would be more reasonable?

Thank you for reading this long post, sorry in advance.
