I wanted to make a new post to update for better visibility to those interested on this issue.
UPDATE: While they didn't get back to me from my email and conversation with their customer rep about this issue, I noticed today that they took out the credit card promo on their shopping bag page as seen in this screencap: https://imgur.com/EB1zLJG. I don't know if my complaining did anything, but this at least prevents anyone else from being misled.
I have also filed a complaint with CFPB as suggested by /u/TheFracas and /u/backofthenet1 on the original post. Thank you to everyone who gave relevant advice and the ones who sympathized with this issue.
