but I was really excited about what happened and thought I'd share.

Backstory: I'm a volunteer cross-country coach for my child's school. I coach roughly 24 kids, grades 3-8 in running different distances. Anyway, it's fun and the kids are great.

The parents got together and each chipped in for a $50 gift card to a local running store. Now, I'm actually kind of picky about my running shoes and runners know that these can run decently high - although there are ways to get deals.

Anyway - I went in expecting to maybe get a few pairs of running sucks or check out apparel that I could obtain with my gift card. When I see that they have these boxes of shoes on the floor.

They actually have the shoe I like, in my size (and actually a "newer model") that normally retails for $140. But since it's been "demo'd" (run in a few times, very minor scuffs), it was priced at $50. So after taxes, I paid $4.95 for $140 shoes.

Now that I know they keep demo'd shoes - I'll always check there first!
