I'm just trying to learn more about what it means for a company to buy back their shares and how that might benefit the company or affect the share price. I've seen a lot of announcements from companies buying X amount of shares over a certain time period (Ex. Spotify buying back $1bn of shares over 29 months) and I'm curious about the business strategy behind such a move. Any thoughts/explanations are greatly appreciated!
