Hey friends,I'll start by saying that I am a huge DIY person, and my brain has been in hyperdrive trying to come up with a way to protect the wood floors in my home from doggo "accidents", or urine, if you will! I have lovely puppers, but they often pee on the floors. in an interest to cover the floors, but also look good, I'm planning to make an "area rug" out of a large sheet of vinyl flooring. I'm hoping to bribe everyone for information in return for a tutorial/post on what I end up doing. :)I've seen a few DIY bloggers do this, but I wanted to check this site to if anyone has suggestions on what type of paint to use. For reference on what I've been looking at, links to relevant posts are provided below. I'm going to paint the back (bottom) of the vinyl, so not the actual vinyl surface. What will help create a strong, waterproof surface that has a little bit of flexibility to it? Specifically, I need to have a surface that is waterproof to urine! I hope to be able to roll it up for moving at some point in the future. I've mostly seen people use porch paint, but there are a few varieties of this, and I'm not sure which one to choose. I also plan to coat it with a polycrylic as an oil-based poly seems like it would be too stiff and crack over time, but please tell me if I'm wrong on this assumption. Happy for any suggestions!https://realitydaydream.com/diy-dining-room-area-rug-painted-linoleum/https://retrorenovation.com/2012/09/04/how-to-paint-rug-lauren-shows-us-her-painted-area-rug/ via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2SD9aTJ
