I was in Old Navy today and noticed they have a hooded parka that looks like a clone of the Alpha Industries N3B parka.
I actually have a slim N3B from the awesome Nordstrom's Rack deals last year and looking at both coats the Old Navy one is basically just as nice but a lot cheaper. The Alpha jacket has more faux fur on the hood vs. sherpa on the Old Navy, and some of the detailing is a little simpler on the Old Navy (I kinda like the simpler arm pocket on it vs. the goofy pen holders and junk on the Alpha Industries one). The sleeves on the Alpha Industries jacket are a little nicer on the inside too (they have a tight knit liner that hugs your wrist). And the Alpha jacket has a few more front pockets, but in my experience those pockets are pretty useless and hard to get your hands inside. The Old Navy jackets look nicer in person than the model pics on their site IMHO--they're a little more shiny in person, but not as shiny and satiny as the Alpha Industries jackets.
As far as the fit goes the Old Navy jacket seems true to size. It's a tiny bit boxier than the slim version of the N3B, but it's not too bad for such a thick jacket. There's a cord inside too at the waist so you can cinch it tighter and more form fitting.
It's hard to figure out the price of the Old Navy jacket because they run so many sales, but if you can find it for $40-50 or so it seems like a great deal.
