Hey r/DIY! Don't post here much but wanted to share my custom computer desk. I was shopping for a new desk and wanted one able to fit 3 monitors (some day haha), as well as my computer and a few gaming consoles that matches my other furniture. Unable to find one online, I decided to build my own. I was originally searching for items to use as standard desk legs and a piece of wood, as well as wood stain and mounting screws. What I ended up leaving Lowe's with were two doors on clearance, two 2x4s, some scrap wood from the clearance isle and two burro boards. The 2 doors make up desktop itself, with cut 2x4s holding them together with wood glue. They were all stained individually so the color matches throughout the entire desk. The doors hold on top of the burro boards, and the scrap wood was also furnished and held into place between the burro boards with wood glue. The little areas in the burro boards are perfect for my computer (not flashy at all, doesn't need to be shown off) and the top is long enough for what I need. It's a little wide but nothing that bothers me since I can pull my keyboard and mouse up a little further. Overall it was very cheap, I built it in a day and I think I did pretty good for a 16 year old.Pictures: https://ift.tt/2Or2JzB via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2SIiB4e
