As I work to minimize my wardrobe, electronics, appliances, furniture, and even scan all my documents at my own apartment, I’m realizing that I’ve actually been “cheating” quite a bit by using my parents’ house as storage. Well now they are moving to a smaller house and I’m making an effort to get rid of a lot of stuff that I always kept at their place:
- boxes of Star Wars toys
- boxes of Magic the Gathering and Star Wars CCG cards
- shelves of DVDs, box sets, etc.
- TONS of video games from Nintendo to Dreamcast to NeoGeo Pocket to PS3 and XBOX360
- of course all those plastic instruments from Rock Band, Donkey Konga, and Beatmania
- CDs, MiniDiscs, Casettes, and endless cases
- newspapers from every major sports championship or political event
Has anyone experienced this and how did you tackle such a feat? Some stuff is nostalgic, some stuff is probably worth some money, but I’m in my mid thirties and I’ll ultimately have no use for any of it. Does anyone have some good resources for donation or sales of these items?
