Hi all. We have a 1960s house in the UK. We removed the wallpaper in our hall to find that the walls were white underneath. At first we assumed that they had been painted white. However, the texture is a bit rough and streaky. Wetting the walls and letting it soak for a few minutes makes them a little slimy, and as shown in the picture they can be cleaned all the way back to bare plaster with persistent scrubbing and lots of water/steam. Is this stuff old wallpaper paste that we have to remove before painting?https://ift.tt/2DwoD2P thanks. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2KggPng
