I'm 28 years old, and a programmer who was born and raised in the city. Last month my grandfather sadly passed away, and left me his farmland in a another province. Its ocean side, (unfortuently has a marsh and not a sand beach. 70% of the land is filled with spruce and oak trees. I dont want to sell it becuase it's rare to have this much land these days. It's also only worth about $180,000 CAD combined with an old house built in the 30s. The house only being worth $110,000. Right now I dont think anyone would want this property anyways. It's in village with a rapidly decaying economy.

The house is in decent shape, but need plumbing. Only the sinks and bath work. Electrical has been re done. Property tax is about $1800 a year. I really need advice I just have no idea what to do with the land. Should I just hold onto it for 40 years, and see if the land value increases, then sell? Will a solar farm be worth building in a few decades?
