5 night hospital stay, C section. We have an emergency fund and insurance so in the end we only ended up paying $650 and are able to take some leave.
I feel for the people who either don't have insurance or get screwed over by the system with some random out of network anesthesiologist as they are on the brink of death with no other choice. It's no wonder a lot of people in the states aren't choosing to have kids if this is what the numbers look like just to bring someone into the world not even considering daycare, nappies, etc. Just absolutely bonkers.
