Let me disclose first that a lot of my motivation comes from the fact that the US has some of the most expensive highest cellphone service in the word. We pay more than people in most other countries, and the service we get is really not that great. This pisses me off and makes me kinda/sorta wanna refuse patronizing the big companies (AT&T, Verizon, T-mobile, Sprint). It helps that their “standard plans” are expensive: $80/mo for unlimited text/calls/data.
Now that I’ve finished that rant, I was wondering if we could start a definitive guide to US cellphone carriers. I’ve spent most of the last year hopping from one minor carrier to another in a never ending quest for the best service at the lowest price. I don’t think I’ve found it, but I’m wondering what other people have found. (Currently I’m with Consumer Cellular, $30/mo for unlimited talk/text, 2GB data)
