Hi,I'm looking to build a weightlifting platform directly on the dirt area in my backyard (https://ift.tt/2PMZiZ7 live in Southern California, so we don't get too much rain, but I am near some mountain ranges, so we do get some. I am concerned with waterproofing the platform.I am essentially going to be using this scheme (overlapping (2) 4x8 sheets) here: https://ift.tt/2RG7eIX may make the topmost layer all wood (some nicer wood), instead of using rubber on the edges.I am thinking of using a kind of underlayment vapor barrier. At the very base, I was thinking of buying some thick tarp like this (https://ift.tt/2PDFpn2). The plan is to have a wider base to be able to pull it up around the edges of the platform and cinch it down towards the center, like a bag. Then another tarp could be laid over the platform and pinned to the floor at the edges.I noticed they sell this kind of underlayment (https://ift.tt/2RyWN9S) and I'm wondering if using something like this is a good idea. If so, how and over what layers should I use it?I also do plan on buying a popup canopy for even more weather proofing, so I'm sure this all might be a bit overkill, but would like to take precautions.Any advice? via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2yUpw1V
