Air Purifier with Ionizers has been around for ages they are very common in mid tier cars HVAC (which you can't turn it off), what i understand is they charge the air particles with +/-, so the air particles like dust will tend to stick on surface like wall, table, Dashboard (for cars). I don't really like this as it causes dust to be everywhere even on walls and them being charged means it's harder to blow them out.

So I'm wondering are Ion Plasmacluster like Sharp function the same? Do they release charged air particles so they stick on the surfaces, or do they do it "Internally" that the charged air don't get released to the environment and they are just using the Ion function to trap particles within the Purifier's Filter system?

Also there are some other system like UV that claims to kill 99.9% germs do they pass the air through UV rays inside to achieve this?

Initially i though plasmacluster was something like UV alternatives until i saw the "Ion" on the machine.
