I've been eyeing a really nice computer monitor, a dell sg2417dg for a while now. Finally I found one on ebay broken with what appeared to be a bad mother board. The guy listed it for 125 dollars shipped. I also ordered a replacement motherboard for 60 dollars at the same time.
So why did I say 125? When I got it, I decided it looked really new. Checked the manufacturing date and it was only made a year ago. Called up dell and found the damn thing still had a warranty; in fact it had over 2 years left on it. They overnighted me a new monitor for FREE and i just have to put the old one back in the box and ship it back to them (also free). I even was able to return the motherboard I bought.
Being frugal paid off in spades on this one.
