I am looking to spend just less than $1,500 on a Christmas present for myself. The item I plan on purchasing is not some toy or electronic that will be out dated at of no use in a few years. I am currently a Freshman in college with no debt. This past summer I worked 40hrs a week and I currently work part time. I currently have a net worth of $20,000 without including my car and other possessions. If we were to include these larger physical assets, my net worth is closer to $40-45k. Can I afford to spend $1,500 on myself on an item I will likely have for decades?
