I’ve seen others post similar things before, but the last two weeks the importance of having an e fund really sunk in. In the course of two weeks my house was struck by lightning, I fell through the ceiling of my garage (trying to replace the garage door opener that got fried) and my dog had an unexpected health issue pop up. Even though I got nailed with over $1000 worth of extra bills all at once, I am completely fine and still have plenty of money for normal bills gas and groceries
