Hi folks. I’m attempting to make a fitted desk for my office, but ran into a snag earlier when the circular saw I was using started to pinch and made a really uneven cut. I’m attempting to correct it by shortening the intended depth 1” and trying again.Obviously circular saw isn’t an option anymore, so I bought and tried a jigsaw, but the blade kept bending and proved impossible to maintain a straight cut even with the guides.I then bought a random orbit sander to attempt to flatten it but that wasn’t the right tool, a belt sander probably would work best. Before I go to Home Depot one more time, does anyone have a suggestion for a DIY novice to basically cut along this guide i setup in the photo? Would you just pickup a belt sander, or try a better quality jigsaw, or something else altogether?https://ift.tt/2OL5vEQ in advance.Edit: I have considered a table saw, but that is a significant investment for just this one project. I did ask if Home Depot would do it for me, and initially they said yes but as you can see in the photo above the plywood I have is basically sawdust in the middle and they were worried it would splinter really badly on their hardware. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2NXLcPj
