So if Vegas is expensive these days, what is a good alternative place for a tourist to visit?

My reasons for asking:

Not American.

Hitch-hiked to many states 30 years ago but missed Nevada.

Not a gambler but I know similar people who had a ball there including simply walking the casinos.
