In the US shoppers tend to start by going to the right then working their way to the left. In the UK they do the opposite. There are entire schools of marketing and product placement that work around this habit. So if starting at the meat isle (it is at the same point at your local grocer isn't it? Right or left depending on location?) you see chicken on sale as you move through the shop they will raise the price on items most commonly purchased with chicken to raise the total cost. Starting at the opposite end alters you buying habits and reverses the trend.
