Most on this sub seem to treat being frugal as being careful not to spend too much money, which is indeed a good thing to do, but what about earning more money instead? I don't see too many taking that option.
Personally, I do a bit of both. Sometimes though it's easier to make more money than to save it. Why don't more people discuss that?
For example, I have a few side projects that bring in a bit of extra income each month, and I also make other sums of money here and there. Like recently I made £100 by referring someone to my UK bank. I aim to make another £400 doing this (maximum allowed is £500 a year) by referring 4 other people. Making that £500 seems way easier than saving £500 by cutting back here and there.
What are your thoughts?
UPDATE: Save money AND earn more is better than the either/or that my original question implies. I didn't mean do one or the other, but was wondering why the focus is almost always the savings part.
