I am attempting to put laminate flooring in my basement. I just bought the house a couple weeks ago and the previous owners left the house nasty.I rented a carpet cleaner from Home Depot and tried to clean the basement carpeting (looks like office carpeting, very short/rough) within 12 hours the whole house smelled so bad from mildew you couldn't walk in without gagging. We went ahead a pulled out the carpet and threw it in the dump. The carpet was just straight up glued to the floor. There is now glue and sand (??? I tried to Google, maybe for leveling??) All over the concrete. If I check the concrete and it comes back dry can I just put the moisture barrier over the glue and sand? If that's a bad idea, why, and how on Earth can I get it all out?https://ift.tt/2CKxzBV. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2yDilKE
