Edit: Budget is $100, prefer to pay around 60-80 but if it will last forever I can dish out 100.

Hi! I'm going to be starting dental school in a few months but I'm a commuter college student right now and my current backpack (a tattered old arizona backpack from kohl's that cost about $10) is holding on by threads. I am a 4'11" woman so I am looking for a backpack that wouldn't dwarf me and doesn't weigh too much. It also needs to look professional (no patterns, hoping for a neutral color but I can do any color as long as it's sort of monochromatic and not too bright).

I do want organization, particularly for small dental instruments and loupes (basically very delicate magnifying glasses used by dentists). I have a 2010 original macbook that weighs about 5 pounds, and an iPad Pro that I will be buying next year, both must fit in the backpack. I also want to have enough room for a whitecoat and space for a 5-subject notebook and a slim binder. It would be nice if I could fit my lunch inside (usually 1-2 tupperware and maybe fruit or granola bar)

I also carry small items like a first aid kit, 3 small pencil cases, lotion bottle, index card holder, chargers, reusable grocery bags, and an umbrella that collapses into a 5 in long cylinder. I want a waterbottle holder too, I have a typical Swell bottle but I'm thinking about upgrading to the yeti tumbler. So side pockets are important for me!

I've been looking at the Timbuk2 Ramble pack (17" length), thought about the Timbuk2 Uptown backpack (19" length) since that has special slots for a laptop and iPad, but that might be too big for me. I don't like the Jansport large backpacks, tried them on and they are the size of my entire torso and butt combined, makes me look even shorter. I looked at the North Face and High Sierra backpacks, but most have the cords on the front that crisscross and I don't like the athletic look of them too much, I'd prefer a solid front design with minimal business. I really like the Ramble pack but I'm hoping for something cheaper and maybe with more organization. I might buy that one if I can't find something else.

I'm hoping for a length of less than 18" since my torso from the base of my neck to my last vertebrae is 18.5".

I searched through this sub and didn't really find any bags that fit my description, either they would be huge on me or didn't have enough space inside!
