My roommate's 13 year old cat, Egypt, passed away last week from breast cancer. She was the sweetest thing ever, and my roommate was fortunately able to be home to hold her until her very last breath. The night before she took her to get her cremated, we poured some plaster of Paris in a tray and made some impressions of her paw and nose. I would love to turn those impressions into something that feels more...lifelike, that my roommate can hold, feel, and remember. I'm picturing a silicone or similar material positive, made from the plaster impression negatives we made. I guess the best way to describe it is...I want to make a "gummy" pawprint and nose print from the plaster impressions we made. I'm having a hard time finding a method I feel comfortable with, since I'm only googling and have never done anything like this before. I have limited trial pawprints/nose prints available before I want to try the best ones of the bunch for the final product, and I just want it to be great. What material and method could I use for a very small scale like this? Is there an easily pourable silicone rubber type material that will set in this way? Much appreciated! Pics of the gorgeous midnight black Bombay kitty Egypt herself, as well as the plaster tray of impressions, are in the comments. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2OV45rz
