Here is my situation:

I am a junior in college. My parents are divorced. Me and my sister live with my dad. I pay rent $200 to him because he says he is financially struggling. He has a BMW. you know the rest. I pay for college and everysingle thing that has to do with me, which is fine. But I make around $600 a month and I am living off credit cards. I am left with around $70 a month for micelanious expenses and the other funds are for phone, insurance, phone for my mom, insurance for my mom, school expenses, gas, and food. My debt between helping my mother out (which she is currently without a home but is at a friends) and my siblings and things I needed is $4K from 3 cards. I have savings that I would put in my dad's name so taxes or fafsa would not take it (I know how they work now, I was uninformed) and so I would not touch it. I am ready to be comfortable and get rid of most of my debt. When I ask him, he gets angry and gives me various excuses such as: "you're not ready for it... " or "you'll spend it all" or... "there is a large fee for taking it out"... "well since you want to be independant you have to find your own place". I trust that I will get my money, but I have no time to wait. He renovated the house and every-time I get around to asking, he starts complaining about bills etc. What should I do here? I am 21 on 10/29. (The money was saved from working, and not from gifts, college funds (I'm on my own), or from relatives. It is $4500, and I want to be comfortable in college not living frugle and living off credit cards. I want to make it clear that all I am asking is for my money, and he seems like I am a burden for asking (at this point, i should have to tell him not beg). Obviously he has no right, but I want to approach this carefully as he could kick me out. He also says we are using him, and that he and his wife are the only ones that help in the house (she doesnt have a job so i'm not sure how that work)... oh that's another rant. Anyway thanks for reading.
