My car has vibrated a bit ever since I bought it so having a bit of know how I decided to fix it myself. Turns out it was a universal joint that had gone bad, really bad. It had cracked out the driveshaft yoke and torn itself apart. I was quoted over $300 for a new driveshaft because the yoke isn't sold as a separate part.

Well I went to the junkyard and found a similar car to mine. Pulled the driveshaft and paid $27 for it. It was a few years older so it was a different body style, but I thought eh, it might fit. Driveshaft didn't, but the yoke was the exact same. Swapped the yoke and got a new u joint, works perfect now.

Moral of the story is, you don't always have to buy new, a little bit of creativity and a good junkyard and you're golden.
