I'll try to boil everything down to pertinent information.

My Age : 23

Credit Card Debt: $13,000 in Credit Cards.

  • 1 is on a debt management program with no delinquency and a 50% balance.

  • Two are maxed out at 2k and 3k each with 1 month delinquency on one and 3 months delinquency on the second.

  • Care Credit card with $900 out of $5000 owed.

  • The monthly payment for all 4 of these cards is $500 a month to pay the minimums + interest.

  • I own a car worth roughly $13,000 as of the time of posting.

  • I have no student debt. I owe my father $13,800 Dollars and my Brother-In-Law $4,200 dollars.

My father borrowed the money from an old friend with no contract to pay for my car so I could drive for Uber here in NYC and help out with our debt. My brother-in-law paid for the registration/sales-tax/TLC fees associated with starting as an Uber driver here in NYC.

Both my father and my brother in law convinced me to do this because financing a car would've costed me interest and "who wants to pay $300 a month for 4 years?" being one of the points brought up. They now expect me to pay them each $300 dollars a week.

My mother also wants me to give her $100 dollars a month to help her out (Ever since the divorce with my father she has been nothing but extremely financially supportive to me, she deserves it, she's fallen on rough times.) . My father wants an additional $200 a month, the reason being that he said he took care of me and financially supported me growing up so the least I could do is help him pay his bills too.

He also is now charging me half the rent which thankfully is very cheap and is another $300 a month. My gas expenses are $600 a month.

Driving for uber I average about $30 dollars an hour. Because this is independent contracting, I take the taxes out on my own during filing season and pay the IRS. I work roughly 50-65 hours a week. However I'm only human and sometimes I falter in my work ethic and I average out to about $1000 a week. I don't know what to do. I don't know what to prioritize. I sleep in a car 3 out of 7 days of the week because I feel like commuting home would take time away from paying all this off. I miss credit card payments and fall behind because the due date for my fathers debt is coming up and i have to throw almost a thousand his way at once. I have taken NOT A CENT out for taxes in the past three months of work. I may get kicked out of my house if I fuck these things up, my relationship with my brother in law will sour heavily. I just feel lost.

I keep thinking to myself that I want to take out a personal loan and just pay my brother-in-laws $4200 at once so that way I have an additional $1000 a month to breathe. Even if I'm paying interest and $200 a month for a few years. I feel suffocated and trapped right now. What should I do? Negotiating with them doesn't work, due to our families culture they feel as though it is a given that I should be working 12 hours a day 7 days a week without complaint.

The way I see it the only positives going on are that I have a source of steady income, and that some of my debt can be ignored and there would be little to no legal recourse for my family (Not because they can't pursue legal recourse, but just that the immigrant culture they are all from would never take that route.)

Edit: I don't think it matters right now considering my circumstances but I'm 8 credits away from a bachelors in comp sci and owe $800 in tuition.

TL'DR : My gross Income is between $4,000 - $6,000 a month. My monthly bills total out to $4450. I am unable to take out taxes on my income because .
