So I have a tendency to live quite frugally. I'm a recent college grad entering the workforce and on a pretty tight budget.

Well I started a new job in August that I knew would be partially outside, and had a dress code that included shoes. I thought it was a perfect time to replace my old fall/winter boots because I had to throw out my last ones. So I went to a store that in the last couple of years has switched from tween girl silly knick knacks, into some pretty decent looking but very cheap and cheaply made clothing. They sell shoes there too. They had just got in some fall boots so I pick a pair, and end up paying about $40 for them. They were in dress code and I thought they would be alright.

What I guess I should have planned for was that my equipment and the small amount of time I spend outside would completely destroy these boots. I'm talking like, a week into them I have holes in the toes and the soles peeling off. And all in time for some serious wet weather to come flying in.

I think it's fine because this job is temporary, whatever. But the boots aren't even comfortable. All they have to do is last until November! Nope. They dont. Luckily it's been warmer so I was using other shoes that fit the dress code and havent needed them.

Today I was running some errands and saw a shoe outlet store that has some good quality merchandise, as well as some good deals. I suck it up and go in because even the shoes i was wearing then were starting to fail me.

I find a pair of great quality boots in my size for 20% off, and another pair of shoes for 50% off. I pick out some more socks and go to the counter. There i have a $10 coupon i didn't know about and i also get another 15% off for signing up for their email list. Overall i spent about $100 for 2 pairs of shoes and some socks.

Though it was a bit pricier than the boots I got from the other store, I know the ones I got today will last me months, maybe even years, longer.

If it's good quality it will save you money in the end! Also outlet stores have got your back with the pricing!
