While for most products it's preferred to buy once to last forever, what items would you definitely not want to last, or wouldn't be worth the investment to last?
I suspect most examples would fall into one of the categories of changing style or technology.
Examples:
Buying an immortal black and white tv at their introduction may not have been a worthy investment.
