Hi FFF!

A few weeks ago, we created a poll to see what you thought about this subreddit to make changes and overall make this the best subreddit possible. I joined the mod team close to 4 years ago as a user who loved the sub and wanted to help make it a better place. Since then, we've had a team of INCREDIBLE volunteers that have worked hard every single day to make this the best experience possible. It's not perfect, but we've come a long way and truly would not be here without every subscriber of this sub.

/u/blackdahliax created this poll to gather your feedback, and we wanted to share the results with you! If you somehow missed the poll, feel free to leave feedback here and watch for a few changes we'll be rolling out in the next few weeks. Additionally, we are thinking it would be really cool to let users choose flair based on their favorite brand or if they give great reviews for the sub or share their frugal tips.

We love you all and thank you for ALL your help in helping others shop frugally, find items, or give advice (and most importantly, reporting spam)!!! My thoughts are in italics

1. Do you enjoy our subreddit?
- 96.3%: Yes
- 3.7%: No (You are dead to me. JK, but not sure why you're subscribed if you don't enjoy it here ¯_(ツ)_/¯)

2. Do we need to add any rules?
- 86%: No
- 14%: Yes

3. How do you feel about our current rules?
- 73.8%: I like them
- 26.2%: Various Responses: I think they need improvement, I don't like them, I've never even looked at them, I don't know them, I've never read them, Generally good maybe some modifications, Neutral

4. Do you think we should allow self-promotion?
- 74.8%: No
- 25.2%: Various Responses: Maybe allow Self-Promotion Saturday, With permission from the mods before posting, If you are having a sale yes, Yes for stylists, no for clothing brands, Yes if it is a direct link and not to AliExpress sites

5. Do you think the repercussions for breaking our rules are fair?
- 81.3%: Yes
- 18.7%: Don't know what they are (They are on the sidebar or community info)

6. Would you be interested in featured brands that offer % off for the subreddit?
- 79.4%: Yes
- 16.5%: No
- 4.1%: Various Responses: Perhaps if there are limits and mods aren't profiting from putting up said discounts (The mods have never received any monetary gain from any companies posting in this sub, by the way!). Wouldn't Care, Yes but require a flair

7. What can we do to improve our subreddit?
- No more sketchy sales links
- Personally, I really like it as it is
- Nothing that I can think of at the moment!! 💜
- Allow Amazon Links
- Some kind of weekly discussion would be cool. Something to up participation and not just be a list of coupons. (I personally like this because it would help us connect as a community!)
- More posts plz
- I like the idea of brand or website reviews, as long as they aren't monetized or incentivized by that brand. There are SO many brands and SO many styles and websites out there it's hard to know what's a good deal or not!
- Have a list of reliable websites in the side bar.
- I feel like there have been a lot more scammy links than usual. Maybe also a FAQ or a sticky regarding Shein/Cupshe/etc? Seems like there's questions about ordering from those sites every few days.
- Add more sales like when stores do half off clearance, not just where can I find this cheap dress or similar posts.
- Include a flair for outside US
- I would like if there was a plus size tag because I'm a cheap fatass who get's sad when cute cheap clothes are too small for me
- do not let people post their outfit of the day
- It would be nice if it were more active and discussed fashion more instead of mostly where to buy cheap stuff. Like r/femalefashionadvice, but emphasis on affordable alternatives.
- I love it and get great ideas and advice for frugal fashion. I there is a post that I don't like, I don't read it.
- A coupon sharing megathread besides just Old Navy
- Probably add more freedom for users to post pictures of their outfits and give some advice about were to get replicas of expensive brands
- Maybe highlighting products or brands that are high quality and last long, so we know where will be a good investment?
- Better spam control, more recruitment
- People don't seem to understand the difference between "frugal" and "cheap". I really want to find frugal items- things that are usually expensive but can be found inexpensively in the right situation. I want suggestions for brands to be on the look out for! I want suggestions for what type of fabrics to avoid and which to buy more of! We hardly ever see it on this subreddit and compared to what the guys have for fashion on reddit, we're just sinking lower and lower. - Weekly posts or discussions that are moderated (We actually had something similar years ago and people seemed to hate it)
- Have more sale and clearance alerts like FFM. “Find the cheap version of ‘this” should only be a thread
- I would just in general like to see more deals and less 'frugal alternative to X item?' posts. I don't know how to change this but I just thought I'd let y'all know in case you have any ideas.
- Have a simple questions/weekly thread? For posts like, where can I find [style] or [shirt]
- More active discussions/guides on articles of clothing/fashion.
- More deals or people's thoughts after purchasing some of the items from this subreddit (would they not recommend? Would they highly recommend the item for someone else? Etc.) Also have 'best practices' for getting the most out of this sub - recognizing whether that deal is worth it, have more guides
- Have mods post deals more frequently or tips for getting lower cost clothes
- Weed out posts looking for cheaper "dupes" or generic items like t-shirts, jeans, etc. Why do people make posts asking where they should buy t-shirts? I think this should be a sub that showcases deals, sales, coupons, tips on when to buy particular items for less, etc.
- More deals and less "Where to find this or I'm looking for this" individual posts. Those posts clog the subreddit. Maybe do a daily thread for those "Where to find" items.
- add a wiki of resources to find frugal stuff, either online or make an infographic (This is a great idea! We are trying to build a wiki of revolving sales for reputable brands so people know when to wait for a sale!)
- More insider info on seasonal trends and where to find frugal versions. I.e. tuxedo pants seen on runways but $25 pairs found at H&M. Also interested in sustainable frugal fashion.
