How does everyone handle student load debt with their spouse?
For example, my wife only has 8k left to pay off and I have about 30k. We are both in the same field and have identical incomes. She just happened to have parental help and I didn’t. Ever since we’ve been married, it’s always been she takes care of her’s and I take care of mine. We’ve never tried to tackle this debt together.
Is that what most people do? Do others try and make a joint effort to pay it off as “your debt is my debt too”?
