My child's teacher just had a baby, and I offered last week to send a card on behalf of the parents. As a first-time room parent I just learned I cannot collect money (it's against rules). I was initially thinking of flowers along with the card, but I just looked up some florists near me and the smaller arrangements are $60+ for which I don't want to float the money by myself. I am not creative enough to arrange them myself unless it's for the ugliest award category.

Any frugal ideas for a 'congrats on new baby boy' gift that is professional (no mom gifts, clothes, nothing personal) and non-perishable that I can send (I believe I can drop it off or send through my kid and they'll make sure to send it by end of day)? I am not even sure what a decent yet frugal budget could be.
