Hey All, looking to mount a TV- I've done it before but never without wood studs. The mount manual says not to use metal studs, so I am planning to use 1/4" snap toggle (link below). The dry wall is 5/8" thick, with two sheets hung presumably for sound/fire protection. I am planning to use a 1/2" bit to drill the holes for the snap toggle. I'd like to use a 3/8" snap toggle but the mount came with 5/16" bolts if you were to mount in wood stud- so I think 1/4" bolts with a washer will be the largest I can use. These should hold about 80lbs each, and the TV + Mount only weighs about 33lbs. Anybody have experience with this, or any reason not to do it? I think I should be more than fine with such minimum weight on double hung drywall.Toggles:https://ift.tt/2wSWyyp Mount:https://ift.tt/2CvZUNe via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2Qd8xPy
