My vet has suggested both heartgard and nexgard monthly for my dog. I believe the heartgard protects against heartworms, and the nexgard against flea and tick. The problem is it comes out to about $50 a month! There's gotta be a cheaper way... right? Are there other brands, subscription services, or anything like that that you save money with? Are both these products essential?
