So my husband and I are currently in a mobile home for the next few months (finishing grad school). We own the trailer but rent the lot. I noticed last night that the floor was very “squishy” by the window-carpet itself didn’t feel overtly wet. I pulled up the carpet today and there is obvious long term water damage at each end of the window-no sign of water damage inside the house-my guess is it’s leaking around the window on the outside? Windows were replaced before we bought the place. We can’t afford to have this professionally done (or I wouldn’t be on this sub). We have access to skill saw and circular. Got the rotted wood up. Have a fan on the whole deal. The joists look ok but the 1x6’s at the base are damaged. Our plan was to replace the rotted parts of the floor, then carpet, etc., but I’m not sure the best way to get the damaged part of 1x6’s out? We want to fix it the best we can but it’s not our permanent home and we’re on a tight budget-any helpful suggestions are greatly appreciated!!Pics in comments bc I forgot via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2QfmQSR
