I was on the phone with my wife today, and she told me that her Credit Karma had notified her that her longest standing credit card account would was closed on Aug 31 due to inactivity. She logged into the online account for that card and confirmed the account is closed.
She has had this card for 15+ years and we are afraid it will impact our credit score at this point but we know their is nothing we can do about it as the account is already closed (Our credit scores range between 770 and 800 depending on the month so we are not too concerned but it still stinks)
We moved almost all purchasing to the cards that offered the best rewards programs, and this one fell off of our radar. I think we assumed that they would reach out to us before closing it.
Posted as an FYI, if you have a long standing credit card, remember to use it periodically to prevent this from happening to you!
