I've been seeing Simply Potatoes (which unsurprisingly, aren't simply potatoes if you look at the ingredients list) all over the place at nearly every grocery store these days, and they often range from 1.99-3.29 (based on my experience here in San Francisco) for about 20 oz of potatoes; Trader Joes sells frozen potato patties for about 1.99 for 20 oz as well.

They are not fresh, they are made with preservatives, and are very expensive for mere grated potatoes. Frozen hash browns, while cheaper, can take up valuable freezer space that many of us can't part with for a 32 oz bag of potatoes.

Instead, invest in a cheap steel box grater (I found mine for 2.99 at a general store ) and buy a 5-10lb bag of potatoes, and make your own fresh hash browns every morning.

They taste better (being fresh from the potato), are more economical, and you can use the grater for things other than just potatoes (or even use different potato varieties), and don't have added weight in dextrose sugar and preservatives.

If you eat potatoes nearly every day (as I do), you'll really enjoy grating your own fresh hash browns each morning.
