I bought a 1957 home in Calgary, AB. The aluminum siding went all the way to the ground and at one point I saw termites so I removed the bottom 4 or 5 levels of siding to come just above the basement windows (which are entirely set in concrete. This exposed mostly good plywood that seems to cover the entire house and upon which the aluminum siding is fixed. My goal was to remove the plywood to the top of the windows, put a finishing strip for the siding, put new windows in (flush to the now exposed concrete), and then parge leaving exposed concrete.I worry, though, that there is something I am not thinking about - like I should not expose the concrete, or this will make the windows leaky, etc.Can anyone who may have done this before shed some light on potential pitfalls? Thanks. The burgundy siding is my house - the blue is a neighbor and what I had in mind.https://ift.tt/2DoGgmN via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2xIMkQP
