A week ago I made a post about some electrical outlets not working. It can be found here. I came to this forum and got some really good advice. In fact /u/milkyturtle advice worked, partially.Well it is time for round 2. So here's the rundown. I followed the instructions of /u/milkyturtle with this outlet. It worked, and power was flowing to the outlet opposite of it.Here's the rub. Another GFCI outlet in the same bathroom isn't working either. I took off the outlets and tested the wires with a multimeter. No power. Directly opposite of this GFCI outlet was another GFCI outlet (they are fed by the same wire) I tested it, no power. The next thing I did was use a cable tracker. I had to go up into the attic and trace the wire to be sure it leads to the breaker box. I found it, and the wire was too short to make it to the breaker. What I did next was replace the only breaker that had no wires running to it. I spliced the white wire, black wire, and ground with extra Romex wire. I connected the white wire to a bridge, the ground to a bridge, and the black wire to the new breaker. Now, I shut off all of the breakers to the breaker box before I did any of this. Once I had the wires in place I turned on every breaker saving the new breaker for last. When I flipped it, there was a spark. I tested the outlets and there was no power running to it./u/milkyturtle /u/justin_144 via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2xBF2hC
