So we currently live in MI and my dads been looking for work after he retired from his last company.

He got an offer as a manager for $55/hour in our town where he already owns a home. It’s a one year contract position that may be extended later on if they decide they need him. It has no 401k, but offers health insurance at $1300 for him and my mom.

He doesn’t need the health insurance because he has his retirement health insurance which was better for only $300/mo

Second job is in California in a not so expensive area but still $1800/mo rent. They offered similar manager position but at $125k/year and it’s a direct full time position. No relocation but 6% 401k. Good health insurance and vacation time.

My dad wants to stay local but he’s not sure he’ll find work at 60 if he takes the one year gig.

What should he do?
