I'm considering pursuing lifelong work as a data entry operator. Alan Watts said to get a dream job, figure out how you can get paid to play. I figure with data entry, I could listen to YouTube videos and music while working. I'm also a big loner and love the solitary nature of the job. It's also stress free with more reasonable hours.
Because I live a simple life, I don't care about money or status, so those aren't factors.
Thing is, lots of people on the Internet said data entry is very boring and monotonous. I have a BA in English from Duke, so my job coach wants me to become an Editor. She said data entry is a dead end job that any middle schooler could do, and that she doesn't see me doing that for 30 years.
What do you think?
